Meet Our Dentist

Dr. James A Shupe is a native of Fort Wayne and attended Bishop Dwenger High School. He attended Ball State University and continued on to Indiana School of Dentistry. Dr. Shupe decided to to specialize in Pediatric Dentistry, a two-year program at the University of Kentucky. After completing his studies, he returned to Fort Wayne to join practice with his father.

Dr. Shupe truly enjoys being a Pediatric Dentist. He not only has the education to back up his profession but is also a Dad to three children, Ryan, Kayla & Derek.

Dr. Shupe sees all children, providing the best pediatric care that he & the staff can provide. He has a team that has been together for many years .
Dr. Shupe is very involved in Isaac Knapp District Dental Society, the local dental group in the community and Northeast Indiana. He has served on the board as well as on the executive committee where he was President in 2015-2016.

Dr. Shupe also serves on the board of the Isaac Knapp Dental Education Foundation.

He is also involved in the Indiana Dental Association where he has served as the Chairman of the Council of Dental Education.

Hi! My name is Darlene. I have been a dental assistant since 1975. Dr. Shupe has been my employer since 1981. I graduated from Concordia High School & IU. I have continued my dental education with courses from University of Kentucky and IU. I am married to my husband, John. We have five daughters and 16 grandchildren. We both stay very busy with family activities.
I have always enjoyed working with young and special needs patients. My goal is to provide the information and tools for these patients and parents to have happy and healthy smiles. A smile is the universal language. A smile can say so much to everyone.

First Visit

Around the time of your child's first birthday is when it is recommended they have their first dental exam. The reason dental care is recommended so early is so that we are able to discuss and or identify any potential dental problem before it may arise. Dental care is important to a healthy life. It is our mission to provide not only quality care, but to help educate parents and patients in proper home care and nutrition.
